By the way, they said it was Community Acquired Pneumonia, not Aspiration. For what that’s worth.

@kdfrawg NHS hospital food is not widely known for its excellence. On the other hand, you don’t have to worry about the entire family being bankrupted if someone has a stay in hospital.

@kdfrawg Yes, quite positive. Of course, we still have to see if he’ll be well enough to go home again. And he’s already complaining about the mushy food.

@tomas It sounds as if the meeting went well. The consultant is familiar with PSP & the speech therapist & dietician have been involved. He’s on puréed foods now and IV fluids & they (my mother) signed a DNR, though they seem to think he’s past the worst for now.

@kdfrawg Looks good! I decided to take a stand against all the bad stuff and had banana & ice cream for lunch.
@kdfrawg She’s used it to good effect with insurance companies and utility companies. It’s surprisingly versatile.

@kdfrawg It’s just immensely frustrating that no amount of being angry or right can get them back.

@tomas He has a GP & support from assorted community people — speech therapist, OT &c. He has seen neurologists (rarely the same one twice) every six months till they didn’t bother to make a new appointment & my mother didn’t chase it up because it’s a pain getting him to the clinic & they never do anything when he gets there. He only went into hospital on Friday & since they don’t bother talking to families, we don’t really know who is in charge or who they have to support them. It’s all a bit rubbish.
