@kdfrawg Thanks to both of you.

We’re holding off going up there because my sister in law wants to come and see us this weekend & she has been told she only has months left & is fitting the visit in between rounds of chemo. My family's a mess at the moment.

Thanks. He’s refused the thickener so far, but this might change his view. He doesn't have a strong cough & can move very little. I think he had a chest infection a couple of months ago. One time will be the one, but we don't know yet if it's this one.

Trying to pin down the progression is a kind of coping mechanism, I suppose. Trying to reduce the uncertainty. I know there aren't any nice neat answers really.

Just trying to get a feel for the immediate outlook. I know pneumonia is the commonest cause of death in people with PSP, but not how risky each attack is.

Hope an update improves things soon then.

For some reason, when trying to look up “aspiration pneumonia” I kept typing “aspirational pneumonia” which makes it sound like the next great fad.

It’s 16 outside at the moment, so the heat isn’t a problem at the moment. I think we had a high around 21 or 22. Quite nice.

At least someone’s relaxed.

@kdfrawg He’s also on his third ward so far (not counting spending Friday in A&E).
