@kdfrawg I’d take that line if we were staying at home, but a week or more of meals to be cooked in someone else’s house don’t happen without some intervention. One day we’ll get to skip Christmas. Anyway, we’re lining up onglet & chips for Christmas dinner, so it’s not all bad news.
@JeremyCherfas I think it might be easier to find one for this sort of use where you’re dealing with a much smaller library. Pixa might work for this.
When you want to manage tens of thousands of images it gets harder.

@jws As long as you have all the stuff saved in a common format, you don’t lose anything by using a fancier front end viewer. Too many ambitious startups want to save things in some slick unfriendly way, then fold after a year.
@kdfrawg We used to do a broccoli & potato soup. Haven’t had it for ages. I must do it again.
@jws Another similar one is collecting images — I like to clip paintings or drawings that catch my eye, or photos. Like journalling apps, there are apps for this that start out with great promises and either develop in ways that aren’t what I want, or crash and burn. I don’t need anything hugely fancy, so I’m probably better off just cobbling a system together from the tools I have. Stick the files in folders and use a pretty image viewer/tag manager.
@kdfrawg Yes, till I had to ease all the ice clumps off his paws so he could walk! There’s something very appealing in the way they just stop and look at you, and wait for you to sort it out.
