Of course, it’s a subscription model, and is Apple only (I think), with no choice of sync methods, so some it will still suffer from some of the things people dislike about Day One.

I use Bear, but not as a journal. It’s a nice note app. You could use it for journalling, I imagine, but I haven’t done that. It wouldn’t do the Day One things of adding the location or weather, or changing the date and time to match a photo.
