@kdfrawg My similar memory is of sitting next to someone on a yoga course who was about 7” taller than me when we were standing. When we sat on the floor, our shoulders were level.

@hazardwarning I’ve hardly ever bought a pair of trousers that didn’t need turning up. I don’t really think about it now. Shortening them is just part of the normal process of getting a new pair. Sleeves are usually too long as well, but I just fold the cuffs back. On a nice jacket when I want to retain the detailing, it can take a few hours to unpick and remake the sleeve plackets.
@hazardwarning Is there a Long Tall Sally shop near you? Every so often I like the look of something in their window, then realise which shop it is, and that their target demographic is not 5’ 1¾”.
@hazardwarning I never needed extra length, and don’t have the right shape for men’s trousers, which is a shame because women’s clothes are generally rubbish.
@hazardwarning I’m on a roll. I just dug out my original 1980s or 90s jeans. I had to wash them to take out the front creases, but otherwise they’re just like the ones some trendy couple were raving about in the Observer a while back.
@hazardwarning I had a rather small cup of Monsoon Malabar. 1 shot of espresso and about 60ml of hot milk.
