We’ve bought some certificates, but just because a side aspect of it is getting him an EU (Irish) passport, so we’re getting copies of the documents related to that. I get the impression you could very easily spend quite a lot of money on the various search sites & certificates!

We’ve been doing a bit of that too. Strange finding out things you never knew about your family background. We’re looking at Mr I’s side & his great grandparents’ marriage certificate had their “mark” because neither of them could write. Another world!

One hour…

When we talk about toilet training them, we suddenly expect them to know that anywhere outside is ok and anywhere inside is not ok. It’s amazing they can understand it at all.

Dogs are very context-sensitive, aren’t they? It’s useful sometimes (you can sit on this chair but not that one for instance), but it does mean that if you want them to learn a particular behaviour as a general rule, that you have to practise it with them in lots of places.

We had a four hour drive home with Bembo, so there wasn’t as much of the day available for him to settle in. He stayed dry all the way back in the car though. We thought we’d train him to use puppy pads, so we duly sprayed them with the stuff that’s supposed to encourage dogs to use them, then popped him on one when we got home. He just sat on it, shaking, and giving us one of those, “I’ll do anything you want, but I don’t know what you want,” looks. So we put him out in the back garden, and that was pretty much the end of the puppy pads.

I know! Two weeks with no puppy and limited pics!

//

I’m sure you will, but it might not be today. :)

I’m travelling on Tuesday, so I have a few days of broadband for puppy pics!

//

Not much napping today for the humans, I imagine. Have fun!

@kdfrawg It’s quite possible that I already have.
