@kdfrawg That’s the one.
// @gtwilson
@gtwilson I’m not really concerned about how long the battery lasts, because I’m generally at home anyway. I just don’t want the battery leaking or anything.
@gtwilson My first one was done that way. In fact, I wanted a new HD too & the genius said that if I popped down the road to Tandy or somewhere & bought one he’d fit it at the same time & it would be much cheaper than getting an Apple one, so I did that. Later on the replacement drive died, so I fitted an SSD.
I suspect components don’t like the temperatures this machine runs at.
@gtwilson The System Information says I should service it. Maybe battery no. 3 is on the way…
@gtwilson I’ve used Fruit Juice since my MBP’s battery was new. It’s supposed to hold 80% of its capacity for 1,000 charge cycles. It’s done fewer than half that many cycles and had less than 70% of the original capacity left. This is its second battery. The first one went the same way.
@matigo One might not articulate it as such, but there are probably chemical responses to stress in most life forms, aren’t there?
@matigo Yes, it’s pretty dangerous out there. I could be a bacterium in a rock, I suppose. That might be more peaceful.
