What a pretty pup.

We got £35 per week, I think. The pay was reasonable if you were actually called in, but nobody had thought to allow for just being kept awake on the end of the phone.

That reminds me of when I used to be on call, and they’d say I needed to be at work for 1 am, then ring every hour through the night to say it was running late — and of course, because I didn’t go in until office hours the next morning, I didn’t actually get paid for being awake all night. Mind you, you’re not getting paid for it either, I imagine.

That sounds like a sensible approach — it would be nice if you could avoid the need for surgery.

lol I don’t think I was likely to do that.

I like the peaty ones, but I rarely get round to drinking spirits, and when I do, the quantities are so minuscule that it’s probably not worth my staking a claim to some of your quota.
