@matigo We got £35 per week, I think. The pay was reasonable if you were actually called in, but nobody had thought to allow for just being kept awake on the end of the phone.
@matigo That reminds me of when I used to be on call, and they’d say I needed to be at work for 1 am, then ring every hour through the night to say it was running late — and of course, because I didn’t go in until office hours the next morning, I didn’t actually get paid for being awake all night. Mind you, you’re not getting paid for it either, I imagine.

@hazardwarning I like the peaty ones, but I rarely get round to drinking spirits, and when I do, the quantities are so minuscule that it’s probably not worth my staking a claim to some of your quota.
