@kdfrawg I’m sure there’s something. The GP worked alone and his surgery was in the basement of his house. That’s not how things usually work these days.

@kdfrawg When I was about 12, my granny worked as a housekeeper for a GP and used to fill in as receptionist when the real one went home. Sometimes I did it instead when I went to stay with her. It was in Huddersfield, and it seemed that almost all of the patients were called Patel or Singh, which made it awfully hard for me to find the right sets of medical records.

@hazardwarning I recently found an unexpected use for one of those allen keys saved in. a plastic section of the toolbox. I slightly overfilled the ceramic casserole (one of those old-style brown ones) just enough that the contents bubbled up slightly and the overflow burned, sticking the lid to the body. Trying to scraped round the edge with a knife wasn’t getting anywhere, so I dug out an allen key to stick through one of the little ventilation holes in the lid & we managed to pull the lid free that way and get access to dinner.
