@larand The iOS app shows the download icon, so I must have had that. It must have been that it didn’t work with the desktop reader I was using. Anyway, I’d prefer not to switch services, if I can find a reader app I like.

@larand Maybe they came out later, or maybe there wasn’t a desktop one that worked. I can’t remember the details now.

@larand I can’t remember why, but I didn’t like it. I think that when I tried it there was some quirk of the API that meant it didn’t play nicely with other apps so you had to use their web interface. That might have changed, but I settled on Feedbin.
// @matigo
@tomas There’s been much more choice, but I don’t think the market’s big enough to support many apps.

@matigo I wasn't ever going to hand over more info to Google by using their ”service.“
@matigo I never bothered with an iOS app before, because it was just too much fuss with no sync.
Since the announcement that Mr Reader wasn’t going to be supported, I’ve been trying some other iOS RSS readers. Fiery Feeds (I already had this, because Mr Reader didn’t work on the phone), Reeder (I use the Mac app, so it seemed an obvious one to look at) and then, because I wasn’t really feeling thrilled with either of them, I tried Sidetrack.
They’re all ok. They work. You can send things off to other apps from them, they have decent reader views &c, but I am so used to Mr Reader that with any of the others, I always seem to be fumbling around at the controls.
I had a query about Fiery Feeds, so I contacted the developer, who responded very quickly and helpfully & sent me an invitation to try the beta.
I know Mr Reader’s interface was looking a bit dated, and it never really caught up after the share extensions were introduced, but I’m finding it hard to switch.
@matigo I tried it in iCab on the iPad, and in a Fluid app on the Mac. Both worked after a refresh. Glad to see the new arrival isn’t causing you to slack! :)
