Since the announcement that Mr Reader wasn’t going to be supported, I’ve been trying some other iOS RSS readers. Fiery Feeds (I already had this, because Mr Reader didn’t work on the phone), Reeder (I use the Mac app, so it seemed an obvious one to look at) and then, because I wasn’t really feeling thrilled with either of them, I tried Sidetrack.

They’re all ok. They work. You can send things off to other apps from them, they have decent reader views &c, but I am so used to Mr Reader that with any of the others, I always seem to be fumbling around at the controls.

I had a query about Fiery Feeds, so I contacted the developer, who responded very quickly and helpfully & sent me an invitation to try the beta.

I know Mr Reader’s interface was looking a bit dated, and it never really caught up after the share extensions were introduced, but I’m finding it hard to switch.
