@kdfrawg I agree. It has shortcomings but there’s nothing better. I’d rather wait for another update or two if I can in any case.

@kdfrawg There are a few things mine can’t so & it doesn’t have a retina screen (its 17" display has fewer pixels than my 4" phone). I still don’t want to fork out for a new one. Not to mention designed in USA, made in China makes me feel as if I’m supporting dodgy regimens by sending them my money.

@kdfrawg No. Still trying to summon the energy. I need to dismantle the shift key & see if I can sort that out too.

@gtwilson It was quite straightforward on mine (if you overlook the fact that it doesn’t seem to work very well) but I think they’ve made it harder on newer models.
There’s an Apple repair shop here, (independent, not owned by Apple) as well as the Apple shop itself. There might be something like that.

@kdfrawg My 2010 MBP is on its third battery. I don’t think they like being cooked. The first two didn’t last anything like the number of cycles they should. This one is ok so far apart from its habit of randomly shutting down every so often.
Obviously the “birthday” is from the manufacturing date, since it was only fitted a few days ago.

@literary It might be starting to lose some power, but it shouldn’t be too bad, I wouldn’t have thought.
@kdfrawg I use Fruitjuice too, but I think it is a paid app.
