@matigo There are more people in the park than on Christmas morning. Probably because the weather’s better and they haven’t got a pile of presents and a great big dinner.

@variablepulserate This was 9am yesterday. Normally you can only cross the road there by waiting for gridlock. But I’m not really moved by architecture, so I tend to take my walks to the nearest area with minimal buildings.
@variablepulserate No, we have a 20-year old petrol car, but it still needs a battery to start it, and they don’t like not being used for long periods!
@variablepulserate Yes. Even here in the centre of town, there isn’t a constant hum of traffic now, just the sound of individual vehicles.
Our car goes out pretty rarely anyway (only once so far this year), but we’ve just ordered a battery charger, since we have no idea when it’ll next be used.
@hazardwarning I spent most of one of my walks trying to predict the trajectory of a couple of children who were running wildly from one end of the park to the other. I shifted my walk a bit earlier today & it was much more peaceful.
