It’s been a very long time since I had a wind-up watch! I recently reclaimed the Swiss railway style watch that we bought for my father a few months ago. (He wanted one with a nice clear face, but sadly with the progression of his illness nothing works for long.)

Strange route planning. Apparently my parcel is about 80m away and will be here in 2¾ hours.

@kdfrawg In most things we are helpless, but we manage to insulate ourselves from it a lot of the time.

:( It sounds like the same sort of thing — and when there’s no treatment an exact diagnosis isn’t all that useful. My father’s 83, so this won’t necessarily shorten his life all that much, just make the last few years of it miserable.

Is it PSP that your friend has? Whatever the cause, it’s horrid to see. My father’s mental faculties have deteriorated, but it’s not that he doesn’t know what’s going on. He can’t process a lot of information and he tends to fixate on things. The main issues by far are the physical ones.

Your friend is lucky to have you.

Yikes. Your mother is going to be busy!

My father’s passed the falling over stage now. In the last few weeks he’s stopped being able to lift a fork or cup to his mouth & it’s awfully hard to talk to him on the phone because I can’t make out anything he’s trying to say. Assorted other family members have developed terminal illnesses too, so my 18 month old great nephew has the job of cheering them all up.

Rats. I’ve been found out!

Busy!

@kdfrawg Repeat until End of CherrySeason.

@kdfrawg That happens.
