Also, this is perhaps the first time since about 1985 that I’ve had to deal with an organisation that doesn’t do electronic communication. I’m wondering about writing out 25 pages of comments in my very neatest, just ever so slightly illegible handwriting.
@matigo It may have been a little bit naughty of me to leave a “I’m awfully sorry, but I’m not familiar with all this stuff, and I’m just trying to understand it, if you wouldn’t mind clarifying…” message.
@c I think they hope you’ll stay lost for long enough for the patient to die before they have to hand over any money.

@matigo Also, the “see section xxx” bit is not only on the paper copy they sent me, but on the one you can download from the NHS web site. I may be the only person who has ever tried to read this wretched thing, or the only person who got beyond the introductory, “We have tried to make this document as clear and accessible as possible.”
Sigh. Just left a message on the social worker’s phone telling her that the cross reference to the National Framework in paragraph 32 of the explanatory notes to the DST for NHC CHC is missing and asking if she can find it for me. This is how I spend my time now.
@kdfrawg Remember Minesweeper? That did it too. And Tetris. I’m not really made for this game stuff.

@kdfrawg The only problem with II was that I kept seeing flashing squares in front of my eyes all night.

@kdfrawg He’s the right dog for us. We see some people struggling with dogs that are gorgeous, but just way more than their people can handle, or needing far more exercise than someone in town with a job to hold down can give them.
