I ordered sepia and forest black. Also the pigment sepia.

Was it a family thing that took you over there?

I quite like the Platinum Carbon pen so I’ll try them in that — at £8 it’s not the end of the world if it gets gummed up, and it has a wider channel than most pens to allow for the carbon ink, so might be less prone to blockages too.

I may have slipped a couple of them into the order that’s currently touring the west of England.

I hope some other parts of your trip make up for the tedious bits.

Funny how important sleep is. Probably your frequent jet lag doesn’t help either, but you’re probably stuck with just making the best of that.

Whatever the mechanism, it seems to be sending things the right way!

And I’m running f.lux on my computer, so I’ll have to look at the colours in the morning.

I don’t actually have any of those! I have Diamine Saddle Brown and Sepia, Iroshizuko yama-guri (which is my everyday ink), J Herbin Café des Îles, and Prout’s brown. Also walnut ink, which I love, but it’s not nice to fountain pens. I wanted a waterproof brown that would at least be ok to put in a cheap fountain pen, so I can use it for sketching and not have the entire page dyed if I use watercolour over the top.

That does look fun.
