@matigo Our washing machine only lasted 20 years. The car is coming up to that. Desktop/laptop computers already last quite a lot longer than they did in the 90s. I think they’ll get there, but they’re still a very young product.
Not quite 30 years ago, but in about 1990, I think, I used a work cell phone for a while. It was about the size and weight of two house bricks. And it couldn’t even take photos! I’m quite happy not to be using that now!

@matigo Mine’s been about 30 years. Every time the strap wears out I get a new one and change the battery. I had it serviced once.

@height8 We got ours in the post. My father was just beginning to find it difficult to get about & we told him not to get a laptop but to wait & try one of these instead. Then we had to have one for ourselves so we could provide tech support. Obviously.
