@c They are hard work.

@kdfrawg I’d rather withdraw a little from society than define it. I’m a wimp.

@matigo I don’t especially want to do something different, though in general I’d like to be able to decide for myself what I want to do. Unless you go for a roll your own, that’s just not available though. Apple tell you how it has to work. Android gives you more leeway on that, but steals all your data.
@matigo I’d quite like to have an alternative to Apple, but I’m not quite techie enough to be confident I could remove or disable all the spyware from an Android phone. MS don’t quite seem to have got their act together and anyway, their recent moves seem to be nearly as creepy as Google, so I’ll stick with Apple, but so far they haven’t made things unworkable.
Tech bloggers get so lost in their little worlds that they think the kind of earphone connector some brand of phone uses is a world-threatening issue.
@matigo I’d be irritated if I had a set of £200 earphones that were going to be useless with my new phone or iPod, but I don’t, so I find it hard to get very bothered about it.
@matigo We survived the loss of floppy disk drives, I think we can survive this.
