Yes, but I have Hazel set up to pick up the .acsm files, open them in ADE, then pass the ePub to Calibre & make a copy of it for iBooks. If it’s from Amazon, it picks up the file from the Kindle app, so I don’t have to bother with any of it.

@kdfrawg Young people of every generation have been unsatisfactory throughout history, I believe.

All my books are passed through Calibre & stripped of DRM. If they’re from Amazon they’re converted to ePub. So it wouldn’t be hard to convert them. I just prefer not to have to.

I have a Kobo something or other. I turned the wifi off so it can’t phone home & it has been fine. There were some features I preferred in the Sony I had before, but they stopped making them. Do Kindles read ePub now? I suppose I’d get one if there were nothing else, but I’d never want it to talk to Amazon.

My old one used to, but I eventually left it way too long, and the couple of intermediate ones were a bit wimpy. This one is coming on nicely, though.

Let’s see if I can keep this one alive.

Decided it was time to have a barm again.

@kdfrawg Well, it hasn’t happened yet — but apparently it was posted yesterday. From Italy, using Swiss post, for some reason. They’re somewhere near the border, so maybe the Swiss post works better. You’d think for EU countries it would be easier to send from Italy though.

Good idea!

@kdfrawg He does like a nice piece of paper to stand on!
