@matigo When I was involved with a twinning association, we had each town write to the other in their own native language. That way, at least the original might make sense. If the French wrote in English and the English wrote in French, in a attempt to be polite, it was almost impossible to communicate.

@larand I had to look that up. They look similar, but pancake batter just has egg, flour & milk (and a touch of salt). Some recipes get flashy and add a bit of melted butter.

@manx They have to be thin floppy pancakes, not the smaller, thicker American or Scotch ones. More like crêpes. Traditionally, for pancake day, we just had them with sugar and lemon juice, but these days I’m more likely to have them with something un-traditional, like mushrooms.
@manx Nice! I’d forgotten it was nearly Shrove Tuesday (in spite of getting two calendar reminders this morning). It’s Pancake Day here!
