The average with secondary breast cancer is about two years, but some live much longer. Somewhere between 10 & 20% make it longer than five years. I don’t think they attempt to eradicate the cancer at this stage, just to make the progression as slow as possible, and to minimise pain.

Yes, my brother’s wife. Still having assorted scans to assess the extent of it & determine treatment. It appears it’s in bones and lungs though, so not looking great.

I hated the way it felt like an interminable exam. So I went back to reading real things too, with some conversations when I can.
