@kdfrawg One of my “when I have a studio” items is a nice big cutting board.

@kdfrawg When I have enough bookmarks, I should start on gift tags.

@kdfrawg Sometimes I tear it up and use the nice bit as a bookmark.

@kdfrawg If it’s really horrid, I don’t post pictures of it. :) Or I pick a bit with a nice texture for a close up.

@kdfrawg I suppose that’s slightly different, but broadly coming at things from the same end. I produce a lot of horridness too.

I’ve been surprised at how much of work on art has been about finding ways of working that suit me rather than learning “how to do it”. Once I have a set of tools and techniques that suit me, then I can find a way to use them. I sort of expected to come at it from the other end — to see something I liked and then learn about the materials and techniques needed to do something similar.

@kdfrawg The hanging and spinning beach balls have only started recently, but it’s always been heavy on batteries & HDs.

//

@kdfrawg Apart from the battery hassles, I’m getting a lot of hangs or beach balls spinning for ages, and backups that get aborted if I close the lid.

//

@kdfrawg Mine’s struggling a bit.

//

@kdfrawg I don’t know which one I’ll go for. The MBP doesn’t look like good value at the moment, but things could change round again next time they’re updated.
