@joanna I think one of the unhelpful things about reading lots of blogs, whether they’re tech, or art, or photography or whatever, is the tendency to fall for the idea that having some bit of kit will make all the difference. When I go round drawing exhibitions, I see that the great artists made great art with dip pens and iron gall ink, not because of the special qualities of the pen and ink, but because that’s what they had, and they knew how to use them. Same with the Chinese calligraphers.
It’s funny, I don’t fall for it with photography, but I keep getting sucked in with art. And then I don’t like having all this stuff and would rather just have a couple of things and get on with it with what I’ve got.
Sigh.
