@larand I do that now! The extra bit is that each time I put a book in Calibre, I make an extra copy of the file in a separate folder in Dropbox that I use for iBooks. It’s handy having it in Dropbox because iCloud doesn’t usually manage to make the books available to my iPad.
The wifi is turned off on the Kobo. I couldn’t see an advantage to me in using battery power up sending info to Kobo on my reading habits.
