It does take a few months to set up — and then more time and hassle to get each of the relevant banks & other bodies to recognise it. If you haven’t already done it, it probably isn’t worth it now. My father actually wanted to do it, and started it in good time, but it took months and months between starting it and actually being able to operate his banking for him.
