@gtwilson Some of your books sound wonderful! I have some old books, but nothing very rare or valuable. I started buying them when I was annoyed that a new book I bought fell apart as soon as I opened it, and I realised I could by an old copy, properly printed & bound, on nice paper, for not much more. Most of my old books are mid 20th century French or Swiss ones. Around the time of the war there was no decent paper in France, but some of the Swiss printers produced really nice books.
I’m afraid that piles of them live scattered around the living room and in the corner of the sofa where I sit, because I like to have plenty within easy reach.
