@joanna We moved house when I was about nine, and I'm still friends with someone I met then, so that’s 47 years. There are a couple of unrelated family friends I’ve known for longer, but they’re more my parents’ friends — or sort of acquaintances that you bump into at the odd family event. I met the daughter of my grandparents’ neighbours at my uncle’s funeral a couple of weeks ago. She used to babysit me when I stayed with my grandparents — I’d be 7 or 8 and she was maybe 14. We’ve not exactly stayed in touch, but met often enough to still recognise one another. Probably just at funerals.
