I don’t really do workflows, but Devonthink is a good place to store information. We have a recipe database, and I have one that I use as a sort of “read later” service, and a big miscellaneous one. I use it for gathering information when I’m planning to travel, for collecting articles on subjects that interest me. I have a database with a big collection of info on art and literature.

Apart from the sorting and finding capabilities, I like the fact that whatever you put in there is stored in its original format, so even if DT dies, you still have all your files.
