@hazardwarning I try not to let them get too heavy, so I generally manage without actually using the waist strap. I need ones that will let me shorten the straps enough to hoist the bag up high enough for my short body, without being so short that I need to be a contortionist to get my arms through them.
I think I’ll just go for a shoulder bag for my outing tomorrow — so that the stuff in the bag is within easy reach. I shouldn’t need to take a massive amount, but I want the SLR & a couple of lenses, and a bottle of water, and insect repellent… it always adds up.
