@kdfrawg I might get a freestanding HD to plug in and do a complete clone every so often as well.
@kdfrawg It’s an accurate enough description. Too much of medicine seems to consist of some trial and error approach to finding a combination of drugs that will just about control the illness and just about not kill the patient.
@kdfrawg Time Machine managed to complete a backup for the first time in months. CCC is still working on it. I set Arq up to do a few key folders, and it’s nearly finished. Copying files to the NAS is taking forever.
It all seems to be working though. I’m keeping the MBP plugged in till it’s finished. It’s still doing its random shut down thing when it runs on the battery.
@kdfrawg Glad you can stop the horrid one — not too sure about the medical experiment bit.
@kdfrawg I don’t know, but my spidey senses tell me this is not a time to be without backups.
@kdfrawg Connections fall over in the middle of copying things; Time Machine gives endless cryptic errors; Disk Utility won’t see the Time Capsule; CCC doesn’t like the setup even though it was perfectly happy with it before… And we wonder why people don’t have good backups.
Doing some painful computer housekeeping — trying to get my backups to work properly, and moving some space hogs from MBP to NAS. It should be easy.
